I've started selling some of my toys & collectibles. As both an eBay Partner and Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. |
Reminiscent of toys of the late 60's, Toymax does it again with the Metal Molder Die-Cast Factory. Small vials of pre-measured metal "shot" are melted and poured into molds to make such things as motorcycles, wizards, robots, and jewelry. The back of the Molder boxes show numerous extra molds that can be purchased separately though I don't believe they ever sold any of these. Also available was the Precious Metals Jewelry Maker which also had numerous extra molds. To the best of my knowledge my collection below includes every Metal Molder and every Precious Metals kit ever sold in the US. I've scanned the Metal Molder Instructions (1.6MB pdf) which also apply to Precious Metals.
First, in the pink and blue box is the original Metal Molder. It came with molds to make a wizard, a motorcycle, a dragon, and a skull. Item 80001 dated 1996.
This is the newer Metal Molder. It came with molds to make a robot, a baseball mitt, a pair of boxing gloves, and a skull. Item 80001 dated 1998.
This is the jewelry making Precious Metals kit. Unlike the metal molder I have only seen this kit packaged in one way. Originally it came with four molds: Star & Moon, Butterfly & Smile pendants, Bug & Jewel Holder, and Broken Heart Pendants. In later kits, the star/moon mold was replaced with a Heart Pendant & Sun. Item 80071 dated 1997.
Refills included 10 viles of metal and a bag of powder. From left to right: Item 80051 dated 1996, Item 80051 dated 1998, Item 80077 dated 1997.
