The Great American Con Machine by Poynter Products is a very cool battery operated novelty that steals folks money! Way cool. Put a coin in the slot and press it in--the box vibrates a bit, then puts up a sign that says "Out of Order". Other stickers were available to make the sign say other annoying things but my copy doesn't have any of them. Item number 403 dated 1977. There is a video on Grand Illusions toy collection site of the toy in action.
Other Poynter Products novelties in my collection: The Little Black Box and The Post Mistress. The most famous toy from Poynter is Uncle Fester's Light Bulb, a toy I'll likely never afford.
